My bad i was selling shitty drops to the trader and before i realized i was lagging i sold by mistake a lot of things... i saved my sapphires but rubies were gone.
let u do the math as it hurts...
the trader gave me nearly 37500 gold
best part is that if i had 2500 more gold on me i wouldn't have had enough room to sell rubies.

allow anyone to /point and /laugh at me

edit: sry i edited after a mod edited me i had to correct a typo

I use my holiday items as "blockers" to keep me from inadvertently selling my important items should they be on the first inventory screen. The rest, I usually keep checked off on merch screens so I don't accidentally sell my gear. ><

That's a good idea. I've always though a locking option on bags might work as well.

To the OP... Indeed ouch.... I know the feeling.

um you can lock bags you know?

just above the items there's your bags with ticks over them, if you click on a tick they will no longer be visible in the sell.

That's an interesting thing

You can also use a 'quest item' to block item sellling. Quest items can't be sold so you can save your good items this way.

My sympathies! I once sold a red dye by mistake in sort of the same way.

Sorry, but as an addicted player who plays GW for fun just about every night, I just have to say that I am amazed totally that you had so many rubies to sell in the first place. Like, in all my time playing I and my party members have found total about 5 ruby and sapphire drops! So you must be doing a heck of a lot of hours farming!

I keep all my valuables in storage. I always visit storage after a run before I go to the merchant to drop off anything good I may have picked up. I know, a lot of people's storage is full though. I usually don't hang on to stuff for long, so I almost always have room in storage for my high end items.

as i just said, the only thing i "farm" is hoh... if an average 2hours pvp a day can be considered "farming".
all the ectos and gems i have come from selling hoh rewards. a single lucky drop can worth 500rubies easily. ask anyone that plays hoh.
i used the word "lucky" with the meaning of "once in a lifetime"... i recently got a 15^50 dwarven axe. 70% of my richness come from that drop

Thats what I do too.............. Halloween hat has saved many an item in my day.

That and storage, most things that I am going to not use for a bit, like crafting material, I keep in there.

that pumpkin head stands out like a sore thumb and blocks nicely

i also sell only out of my backpack and leave the belt pouch/bags unchecked.

when i sell i have to actually move anything out of the bags to the backpack to make a sale.

it takes a bit more time and effort but i have never sold a single item by accident after doing this

I used my halloween items and holiday items as blocker for all my precious weapons and items. And i usually double check the items that i'm merchanting off.

I have in each of my inventories a Gwen-quest-item (e.g. Gwen's flute) so I can't sell my important items like weapons, dyes or rare materials.
